Amblin's Adaptation of Stephen King's The Talisman Hires Josh Boone As Screenwriter

King wrote the 1984 novel with author Peter Straub

More of Stephen King's terrifying imagination is making its way to the silver screen.

A steady stream of his writing is always seemingly in development and now we have The Fault In Our Stars/New Mutants director Josh Boone brought on board to adapt The Talisman. On his journey, he learns of an alternate universe called The Territories where twinners - parallel versions of people - live. "When that project was put on hold, the iconic writer tasked Boone with penning an adaptation of Revival, which is now in development". He'll need to venture across the States and enter The Territories to find the object that gives the book its title.

Boone has had a long-standing relationship with King, which started when he was chosen to write and direct an adaptation of the author's 1978 post-apocalyptic horror-fantasy novel The Stand.

The Talisman is produced by Frank Marshall with Michael Wright exec producing.

Stay tuned to Horror News Network for further updates on The Talisman and other King projects. That adaptation is now in development.

Boone broke out as a helmer when he wrote and directed the box office hit "The Fault in Our Stars".

Boone recently wrapped production on the X-Men spin-off film New Mutants which stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, and Alice Braga.
