Olivier Giroud could make Italy move next summer

Olivier Giroud

Arsenal brought in £52m striker Alexandre Lacazette, meaning Giroud has been demoted to the bench for most of the season.

Giroud scored his 100th Gunners' goal from the penalty spot in the 4-2 Europa League win over BATE Borisov at the start of the month, and got the victor as a substitute in the 4-3 opening day defeat of Leicester City at the Emirates.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told the Frenchman he was free to leave in the summer.

Giroud was courted by Everton in the summer and recently admitted that he was "very close" to making the move.

He also claimed that Lyon and Marseille were interested in his services, but Giroud expressed a desire to remain playing in the Premier League.

And according to Calciomercato, Giroud may be offered an Italian escape route in the coming months.

Argentine Mauro Icardi is the only recognised striker at Inter.

Once again the French were not as convincing as you would expect against Belarus, winning by just one goal after Anton Saroka halved their lead and made it a tense and nervy finish, but Giroud's first half strike ensured they finished top and are heading to Russian Federation next summer.

The French worldwide has recently insisted that rejecting an approach from Everton was the right decision, but the 31-year-old is yet to start a game in the Premier League this season.
