Following the heavy shelling by the Pakistani side, the schools in Digwar sector have been asked to remain shut.

An Army jawan was killed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces along the LoC in Poonch on October 3 and on October 2, while two minors were killed and 12 civilians were injured in cross-border shelling. Till August 1, there were 285 such violations by the Pakistan Army, while in 2016, the number was significantly less at 228 for the entire year, according to the Army figures.
