Probe if there is evidence, says RSS on Jay Shah row

Although the call for a probe came with strings attached, it stood out in contrast to the outright manner in which several BJP ministers and leaders had readily given a clean chit to Jay Amitbhai Shah and attacked the news portal, The Wire, that carried the report. This company is completely in commodity business, where turnover is more while the profit is less.

The BJP president also said after achieving a turnover of Rs 80 crore, his son's company suffered a loss of Rs 1.5 crore. Amit Shah said that there was no question of any corruption in the business activities conducted by his son, India Today reported. "If a company's turnover becomes Rs 1 crore, its profit does not become Rs 1 crore. It is unfair to say there was an over 16,000 times jump in profit.say what the turnover was.It makes it seem like the turnover was huge but it wasn't".

Jay Shah's company has allegedly recorded a turnover of Rs 80.5 crore in 2015-16. All the payments were made through cheques.

"There is no money laundering involved in Jay's company". The report added that the reason the communications chief of RSS Manmohan Vaidya didn't issue a statement and Hosabale did, was because the RSS wanted someone with considerable clout to voice it's opinion on the issue, so that both the BJP and the Centre took note of it.

The RSS leader also distanced itself from senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, who on Wednesday criticized the government for defending Jay Shah.

"Under the leadership of Khandu, the BJP government could have continued schemes of previous Congress government such as skill development programmes and Job Mela and CMUHIS but they are not keen to work for the welfare of citizens of the State", Tok alleged.

He said: "We believe in legitimate and honest transactions. Isn't it surprising? And suddenly after a change in the government".

The Congress leader demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiation of an investigation into the matter.

The Congress party on Thursday accused Narendra Modi-led government of using the investigating agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax as a "tool to silence opposition".
