Actor Jon Bernthal has called Kevin Spacey a "bully" while recounting his experience working with him in "Baby Driver". In a new interview, the Walking Dead alumni stated he wasn't pleased with the way Spacey acted while filming the movie, Baby Driver.
Jon Bernthal went on to say that he was a huge fan of Spacey's, but that his behavior on the set rubbed him the wrong way. "And I was really happy to sort of get out of there, for that reason".
"I thought he was a bit of a bully", he continued.
Bernthal, 41, said he had admired Spacey, 58, ever since he started his own acting career nearly two decades ago and saw the now-axed "House of Cards" star in a West End production of "The Iceman Cometh".
"I just remember losing a ton of respect for him", he told SiriusXM. "A lot of people reached out to me when (the allegations came out)".
The Usual Suspects actor is now "seeking treatment" after he was hit with a string of allegations of sexual assault or harassment by men, including Star Trek: Discovery's Anthony Rapp and Richard Dreyfuss's son Harry. "I didn't really care for the way he was behaving toward some of the other people on set".
The experience completely changed the way Bernthal saw Spacey, who had been his favourite actor.
And while Jon didn't witness any of the behaviour Kevin has been accused of in explosive claims that have only recently surfaced-including making a pass at actor Anthony Rapp when he was just 14 years old, and sexually harassing and assaulting eight past and present House of Cards employees-he did describe Kevin as "a bit of a bully" on the Baby Driver set. "And it's amusing, anybody who I was working with at the time, and people in my life, remember me saying it".
Spacey has made no public comment about the allegations or their consequences since October 30, when he apologised for his actions towards Rapp but said he simply did not remember them. The filmmakers have taken the rare move of planning to completely edit Spacey out of the film and replace him with another actor.
