Shares in the chicken wings chain surged almost 28 percent after the news broke.

Shares of Buffalo Wild Wings soared in after-hours trading Monday after a report that private-equity firm Roark Capital Group was offering a deal for the chicken wing chain.

Bloomberg reports that Roark's offer was made on October 13 at a 48% premium to the share price of Buffalo Wild Wings on that date.

The company raised its forecast for full-year earnings when it reported third-quarter results late in October.

Representatives for Buffalo Wild Wings didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. The value of the investment in Buffalo Wild Wings decreased from $347,000 to $208,000 a change of 40.1% since the last quarter.
