Haters gonna hate: Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' just cracked 1 million sales

Reputation

In doing so, it became the fourth consecutive Swift album to sell over 1 million copies during its opening week.

Ed Sheeran has responded to speculation that Taylor Swift's new song "Dress" was written about him.

Taylor Swift's new album " Reputation" has sold more than one million copies in its first five days, Nielsen Music said on Tuesday, but the US pop star failed to beat the record set by Britain's Adele two years ago.

According to Hits Daily Double, the album is projected to debut with 1.30-1.34 million pure United States sales.

The effort already seems to have worked in one respect: Last week, "Reputation" sold an estimated 700,000 albums - that's sales alone, not even streaming equivalents - on its first day of release.

This makes it the first album to sell a million copies in a week since Adele's 25 moved 1.16 million copies on the week ending December 25th, 2015. Swift is now the only act to have four million-selling weeks, since Nielsen Music began electronically tracking music sales in 1991. Now, the numbers are getting even more wild: As Billboard notes, initial sales reports say that Reputation has sold 1.05 million copies in the USA in just its first four days of release.

The big sales also keep Swift's hot streak alive coming off "1989", which went on to win the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2016 and sell more than six million copies.
