Rose McGowan Surrenders to Cops In Felony Cocaine Case

Actor and activist Rose McGowan has been released on a $5,000 bond after surrendering to U.S. police on foot of a warrant for alleged felony possession of a controlled substance.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, Rob Yingling, told Deadline investigators they believe the personal belongings were McGowan's.

McGowan later accused Weinstein of rape.

The fact there was a warrant out for the star's arrest surfaced after the actress brought it upon social media in October.

McGowan retweeted Ashlee Marie Preston‏ who wrote: 'If @rosemcgowan would have taken that million dollars in hush money I'm quite sure this wouldn't even be a headline'.

Taking to Twitter to slam the arrest warrant, she ranted, “Are they trying to silence me?

A warrant was issued for the actress' arrest for felony possession of a controlled substance. However, that incident was not reported in the New York Times exposé.

McGowan has become one of the leading voices against sexual assault and harassment in Hollywood in recent months. Shortly after news of the warrant came out, Rose made it clear the case wouldn't stop her from speaking out against Harvey Weinstein and supporting victims of sexual misconduct.

In the wake of that bravery, other victims and Weinstein's own employees have spoken out as well, despite also signing NDAs.
