NRL hits Manly with breach notice over potential salary cap breaches

The salary cap investigation into the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles has taken a freaky twist.

Speaking for the first time since the NRL on Monday notified the Sea Eagles of the findings of a lengthy investigation, Gorman said the club had not had time to properly peruse documents pertaining to the potential breaches.

Her favourite player is Kieran Foran and she reportedly invested a significant amount of money into the five-eighth through a trust fund during his time at the Northern Beaches club. "It's a process that can't be rushed a process that needs to be right to protect the best interests of all".

Manly could be facing a hefty fine and two officials could be deregistered after the NRL accused the club of salary cap breaches.

The league has also issued show-cause notices to two unnamed Sea Eagles officials who are now at the club, asking them to show reasons why their registrations should not be cancelled.

"Whilst the normal breach notice protocol is 5 days to respond, the Club will be seeking an extension to ensure we can deliver a robust response to the allegations". Once we have formed a detailed response, we will submit it through the appropriate channels.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg said the Manly club and both officials have already been provided with opportunities to assist the NRL during this investigation.
