All-new 2019 Kia Forte sedan looks sleek in first official sketches

NAIAS 2018 Kia Forte facelift gets Stinger-inspired design image

M - Teaser renderings of the redesigned 2019 Kia Forte, to be unveiled at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, show a new compact sedan that looks stung with styling cues from Kia's hot new Stinger sports hatchback. At the time, it was unclear if this auto would be the Cerato or Europe's new C'eed, and it may indeed end up launching as both. The front clip is flanked by a more dynamic headlamp design and layout.

The front end is more aggressive, with sharp creases in the hood, large lower vents, stretched headlights and a sturdy new version of the Kia "tiger nose" grille.

Known in the USA as the Forte, the third-generation sedan is more of an evolution than revolution in terms of design, but looks to become more aggressive and move further upmarket than the current vehicle.

The sporty sedan has certainly given its looks to the new Forte, especially when discussing the muscular rear - but there's also a bit of the Sportage crossover in there, given the horizontal strip connection between the taillights.

There is no word on whether or not this vehicle will make it into the European or USA markets.

Media and console buttons have been consolidated into a central tablet-style display that's similar to the new Hyundai i30 unit and the climate control is constrained to just two rotary dials below it. Inside, the Stinger inspirations continue with aeronautical references to the vents, and that same horizontal theme.

We'll get a proper look at the new Forte when it debuts at the Detroit Auto Show on January 15 at 11:35 a.m.
