Capcom Explains The Delayed Launch Of Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter: World PC Delay Explained

Now they've explained to PC Gamer the delay is a result of a decision to focus on the console development first and then switch over to PC.

We still don't have a firm timeline for the arrival of Monster Hunter: World's PC port. Capcom recently committed to a fall 2018 debut, but the studio still hasn't committed to a specific month... or even a specific financial quarter, for that matter. However, the PC version was delayed significantly without any explanation, which is definitely frustrating for players gaming on a PC.

At the time, Capcom gave no reason for the delay between console and PC releases. Speculation was that Capcom didn't want to screw up the game's potential in for the PC market and World's producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto, confirmed just that to GamesRader and PC Gamer. It is also known that the developers plan after the release of regularly release add-ons for Monster Hunter: World with new and exotic monsters.

"For the main Monster Hunter game, this is our first PC title and it's something we want to make sure we get right", Tsujimoto tells GR.

Tsujimoto added that the PC edition requires "extra work" regarding matchmaking.

While a more polished game is always welcome, one has to wonder why CAPCOM didn't take this into account earlier in the development phase to make sure all the versions were more or less aligned for release dates. Unfortunately, Xbox One and PC gamers will not be able to participate since it is exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

If you're a Monster Hunter fan, the year is definitely starting off right.

"So, hopefully, PC users won't mind waiting a little bit longer for us to bring you a really great optimised PC experience".
