'Star Wars: Rivals' Coming Soon To Mobile Devices, Adds PvP Combat Mode

Star Wars: Rivals is a PvP shooter coming soon to Android

Lucasfilm and Disney have just announced the upcoming availability of Star Wars: Rivals, the "first real-time Star Wars competitive action shooter for mobile devices". The lineup for Star Wars: Rivals consists of characters from multiple eras of the Star Wars universe. For example, you'll experience Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker, Jyn Erso against Director Krennic, as well as Finn vs. Captain Phasma. Several real-time combat arenas are available to play in Star Wars: Rivals, the companies say, and characters (called Heroes) can be swapped in and out during the battle. Players will have to form a team composed of their favorite characters, each of which have their own different roles and abilities.

Though, that shouldn't be too surprising for Star Wars fans to find out, as Disney is always looking to make some money. The gameplay offers several combat arenas to fight battles using the characters offered in the mobile game.

Star Wars: Rivals take place in familiar places like the Death Star, Jakku, Bespin, Scarif, or Hoth. The game also lets players join Guilds, allowing them to climb up the Arena Leaderboards and claim additional rewards.

We're not sure when Star Wars: Rivals mobile game will be launched on the App Store or Google Play, but Disney is offering some exclusive content to those who signup for pre-registration for the game.

You can pre-register for Star Wars: Rivals on the Play Store now, and when the game's made available to download, Android users will get exclusive access to Death Troopers that'll act as fire support during online matches.

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced a new PvP mobile game for iOS and Android and it features "Star Wars" characters.

There is no shortage of Star Wars things these days, especially games, and it looks like we're getting yet another one for Android very soon.
