Trump fights fake news with awards for 'most dishonest & corrupt media'

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will hand out awards for dishonest media reporting in several different categories on Jan 8. "They will be awarded for Inspiration & Stupid coverage in various categories of the media with fake news Listen and watch!" "Stay tuned!" Tweeted Trump.

President Trump has been most vociferous in attacking CNN for its supposed "fake news", with the network widely expected to win the majority of gongs.

President Trump has relatively and frequently termed these trendy media houses as "fake" media.

After that late November tweet, a Rasmussen poll found 40 percent of voters believed Fox News should win this "fake news trophy", despite the president's suggestion Fox not be included in the contest.

"Whenever you see the words "sources say" in the fake news media, and they don't mention names", Trump wrote in May 2017, "it is very possible that those sources don't exist but are made up by fake news writers".
