Eliza Dushku Claims She Was Molested by a Stuntman at Age 12

Eliza Dushku

The Dollhouse star shared an emotional essay on Facebook on Saturday, claiming that she was molested by stuntman Joel Kramer while filming True Lies when she was just 12 years old. Kramer, as the stunt coordinator for the film, was responsible for ensuring her physical safety on the set of the action film. Dushku's post continued, "I was 12, he was 36".

In an announcement posted on her Facebook page, Eliza composed: 'I recall distinctively how he deliberately drew the shades and turned down the lights; how he wrenched up the cooling to what had a craving for solidifying levels, where precisely he put me on one of the two inn room beds.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress then claimed he then lay on top of her and sexually abused her, while telling her to "stop pretending you're sleeping".

Thanking the abuse and harassment victims who have come forward with their own stories in recent months, Dushku said that she was finally ready to tell her own, and that it has been "indescribably exhausting, bottling this up inside me for all of these years".

After initially sharing the experience with a handful of individuals close to her, she explained that the groundswell of outspokenness by women in a variety of industries against sexual harassers has prompted her to make a public statement. "He was supposed to be my protector, he was my abuser", Dushku writes. He said they "treated Eliza liked family" and he doesn't understand why she would lie about him now after all of these years.

"Over the years, I've really struggled as I've wondered how my life might have been different if someone, any one grown-up who witnessed his sick ways, had spoken up before he lured me to that hotel room."
We all looked out for her. A rep for Kramer did not immediately respond to Mashable's request for comment.

Following the altercation, Eliza said Kramer told her it was important not to tell anyone and that he "grew cold" on the set which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Dushku writes in detail about the way Kramer built trust with her on the set, and then used that trust to secure parental permission for some alone time with the young actor. "This makes me very angry & breaks my heart but I AM SO PROUD OF HER. #MeToo #TimesUp".
