Patriots' Rex Burkhead (knee) not expected to play on Saturday

Rex Burkhead Mike Gillislee out Chris Hogan James White to play vs. Titans

New England Patriots running backs Mike Gillislee and Rex Burkhead are reportedly expected to miss Saturday's AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Tennessee Titans at Gillette Stadium due to knee injuries.

When the New England Patriots take the field on Saturday night, the team will not have the services of two of their key contributors in the backfield.

The New England Patriots' running-back-by-committee group will be without two members in Saturday's National Football League divisional round matchup with the Tennessee Titans. "But when you get good news, it helps you to look forward to these games a little better".

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, neither Rex Burkhead nor Mike Gillislee is expected to play.

Gillislee was also a limited participant in practice on Thursday, marking the first time he returned to the field since hurting his knee during the Patriots' Week 16 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Gillislee, who is second on the Patriots with 383 rushing yards, has been dealing with a knee injury he suffered December 24 against the Bills.

Their absence will put the bulk of the workload on both shoulders of Dion Lewis and James White against the Tennessee Titans. He tallied 264 rushing yards and 254 receiving yards with eight total touchdowns during the regular season.
