An Elysée Palace statement said that "ways to improve the handling of migrants on the common border in Calais" will be discussed.
Migrants made about 115,000 attempts to cross the Channel from Calais previous year despite the evacuation of the Jungle, a source at the French presidency said yesterday.
He is expected to demand the United Kingdom accepts family reunifications and takes "lone child migrants" who are staying in the notorious camp in Northern France, as well as giving more cash on top of the €140 million handed over by the United Kingdom over three years, Le Monde reports.
"The ones sleeping outside don't want to present themselves, because they don't want to seek asylum in France", he said. He questioned officials about measures to speed up processing for migrants who agree to apply for asylum in France.
Hundreds of migrants are still massed in the area, over a year after the former Socialist government bulldozed the Jungle, a squalid makeshift camp in Calais, and moved its more than 7,000 occupants to shelters nationwide.
It means that illegal immigrants in France are barred from Britain before they arrive.
Separately, French Interior minister Gerard Collomb said Sunday in Le Parisien newspaper that France also wants Britain to take in more refugees, especially unaccompanied minors.
On Thursday, Macron will travel to southern England for a French-British summit where he will demand that Britain, which in 2003 effectively pushed back its border to France, do more to help ease the migrant burden.
Macron talked briefly Tuesday with Sudanese migrants at the center in Croisilles, home to 63 people.
Under the 2003 Le Touquet accord, United Kingdom border controls are conducted on French soil but before his election, Mr Macron warned that France could no longer be Britain's "coast guard" and that he wanted to put the agreement "back on the table".
Natacha Bouchart, the right wing mayor of Calais, told BFM television on Monday that the local population was "tired" of the situation and expected a lot from the president's visit.
