Separatist leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Yasin Malik and Geelani's sons, who were questioned in connection with the case, have not been named in the chargesheet. The 12, 749 pages charge sheet had been filed against 12 persons at Patiala House court in New Delhi under the terror funding case.

"During the investigation, over 300 witnesses were examined".

Besides Saeed and Salahuddin, the other 10 accused in the final report are - Hurriyat leader Syed Shah Geelani's son- in-law Altaf Ahmed Shah, Geelani's personal assistant Bashir Ahmad Bhat, media advisor and strategist of the Hurriyat Conference Aftab Ahmad Shah, secessionist outfit National Front chief Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) Farooq Ahmad Dar, media advisor of Hurriyat Conference (Geelani faction) Mohammad Akbar Khanday, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat official Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, hawala operator Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watal and two stone-pelters - Kamran Yusuf and Javed Ahmad Bhat. Shabbir Shah is presently lodged in Tihar Jail.

On July 24, past year NIA arrested seven second-rung separatist leaders - Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate, Nayeem Khan, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Peer Saifullah, Aftab Hilali Shah alias Shahid-ul-Islam and Aiyaz Akbar Khaney and Altaf Ahmed Shah alias Fantoosh Geelani, the son-in-law of hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, were arrested from Srinagar and Delhi for their alleged role in "creating unrest" in the Valley.

The agency has charged the Hurriyat leaders with acting under the overall guidance of and instructions from Saeed and Salahuddin and their "Pakistani handlers" and plotting strategies to launch violent protests.

These acts aimed at creating an atmosphere of terror and fear in Jammu and Kashmir, the NIA alleged.

It said funds for such activities were also raised "by generating illegal profits from LoC barter trade by doing under-invoicing and cash-dealings".

"Hurriyat leaders, terrorists and stone-pelters are carrying out terrorist attacks and orchestrating violence, stone-pelting and other subversive and secessionist activities in J&K as part of their well-planned criminal conspiracy hatched with the active support, connivance and funding from terrorist organisations based in Pakistan", the agency said in its chargesheet.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter held a demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, today, against the stepped up Indian state terrorism and continued detention of Hurriyat leaders in occupied Kashmir. The prosecuting agency, under the anti-terror law, has to file a chargesheet within six months, failing which the accused is eligible for bail.

While three of them have been formally arrested, the fourth one was detained and subsequently let off after he said he would become an approver, the officials said, declining to divulge their names.
