Razer has plans to release a second phone somewhere in 2018

Razer Phone 2 launch details include Project Linda

Are smartphones making teenagers depressed? The result was Project Linda, and this phone-powered laptop might be appearing around IFA later this year, together with the next Razer Phone. According to an insider, Razer will be announcing the Razer Phone 2 sometime is September but it is unsure if they will be calling it Razer Phone 2.

Razer got into the smartphone business about 2 months ago with the Razer Phone, a gaming-focused handset with a 120Hz screen and a fairly large 4000mAh battery. According to the company, the Project Linda will act as a bridge to fill the gap between handheld entertainment and laptop convenience. Once connected, the laptop uses the smartphone's hardware to function and the phone's display turns into a trackpad. As far as connectivity is concerned, it comes with a 3.5-mm audio jack, a USB-A port, a USB-C charging port, 720p webcam, and a dual-array microphone. That said, if there were to be a commercial launch, it could make the best sense to tie the device, the concept of which was proprietary to the Razer Phone, to the Razer Phone 2. For the uninitiated, Project Linda is a laptop dock concept that the company first showed off last week during CES 2018. Razer Phone can be easily docked into the laptop to create a hybrid mobile device for a superior experience.

The Razer Phone comes with massive features like 8GB RAM paired with a Snapdragon 835 processor, along with a Quad-HD display with a rare 120Hz refresh rate. If it does end up becoming a real thing, fans should expect it to arrive in September along with the Razer Phone 2. These configurations deliver an incredible gaming experience on the smartphone. This comes shortly after a sly tweet from Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan to Marques Brownlee's desire for realization of the phone-driven laptop.
