Tottenham get tough with Chelsea, despite Antonio Conte's wishes

It's been well documented in the past few weeks Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to bring in a target man in this transfer window.

The Blues have registered late interest in the Spaniard as they hunt for a replacement for Michy Batshuayi, who is expected to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund.

The Spaniard was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the last window, but took the decision to sign for Tottenham.

However, the same article claims that Spurs could "easily" recoup the £12m they spent on signing Llorente last summer if Chelsea FC do indeed make a bid for the striker.

The Premier League champions are desperate to get a targetman for Antonio Conte but Giroud's departure from Arsenal is not straightforward.

However, the Italian would still rather Chelsea sign Llorente as he believes that his former Juventus star won't need any time to adapt to his demands.

There have been reports that Tottenham want £25m for Llorente, though Chelsea are unwilling to splash that much on the Spanish forward. But Llorente has played under Conte before and they've reportedly got a very good relationship. However, the Blues did not want to lose the Belgium worldwide on permanent basis with the former Marseille star reluctant to go to Spurs to serve as a mere back-up for Harry Kane. He will want a move somewhere but Tottenham isn't the right club.

But should one deal fall through, it could have a domino effect and potentially scupper the other three with little margin for error ahead of deadline day.

The striker has struggled since joining from Swansea in the summer, but he remains part of Pochettino's plans.
