The censor board was reportedly asked for a review by the Defense Ministry as the film is set against the army backdrop.

Talking about the film and its release, Sidharth earlier told IANS, "Our producers are tackling it. So, our entire team of Aiyaary is looking forward to the release of the film", he adds. In fact, we nearly thought that the film might run into some serious trouble as the censor board asked the makers for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry Of Defence for a smooth release of the film. The twisted tale of the release of the Neeraj Pandey directorial has continued, making a furhter delay in the release of Aiyaary. Neither the CBFC nor the producers bothered about the Defence Ministry till the end of January 2018!

The release of Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary, which was supposed to hit theatres on 9 February, has been postponed by a week.

However, Akshay Kumar, as a move in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and to let Padmaavat get a solo release, shifted Pad Man to 9 February, bringing the situation back to square one. Produced by Shital Bhatia, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Motion Picture Capital is slated to release on 16th February, 2018.

Celebrating the approval, actor Manoj Bajpayee wrote, "That's a green light for #AiyaaryOnFeb16 with no more pit stops along the way!"

In a formal announcement, Aiyaary's Official handle tweeted, "Thank you #CBFCIndia!"

Actress Rakul Preet Singh expressed, "And It's a smooth road ahead to #AiyaaryOnFeb16!" Now, according to the latest media reports, we hear that the film might be postponed again and it will now open on February 16.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film falls next in line with the renowned film-makers celebrated works like A Wednesday, Baby, Special 26 and M.S.Dhoni: An Untold Story.
