Trump meets shooting victims at Florida hospital

17 students were killed and several others were injured in a school shooting in Broward County Florida

As previously reported, former student Nikolas Cruz, 19, was arrested and charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder after he opened fire with an AR-15 rifle at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday, February 14, killing 17 students and adults and injuring 14 others. She urged Trump to take action, "President Trump, please do something, do something, action, we need it now".

One of the most powerful voices to come out during the aftermath of Florida's school shooting is Lori Alhadeff, whose 14-year-old daughter Alyssa was among the 17 victims killed in the attack.

Kimmel then began to get emotional as he recounted just how many school shootings have taken place in the USA this year, (which according to the gun safety advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety is 18 so far - and we're in February). This number seems to be a reference to a study by the group Everytown for Gun Safety, according to ABC News, with the correct statistic being eight school shootings that were intentional and resulted in injury or death.

"President Trump, you say what can you do?"

Trump was already set to leave Friday for a weekend at his Palm Beach resort.

"I will be leaving for Florida today to meet with some of the bravest people on earth - but people whose lives have been totally shattered".

The President's Thursday's remarks steered the debate towards the "mental health" issues rather than wading into the policy discussions surrounding gun laws in the US. At least 15 more were also injured.

What: A devastated monologue about why it's decidedly not too soon to talk about gun reform, following the latest school shooting. This year's returning Oscar host even offered Trump a suggestion to help solve the prevalent problem.

She also spoke about the nightmare of burying a child. "I want you to know that you are never alone, and you never will be". "You have people who care about you, who love you, and who will do anything at all to protect you". "If and when that happens, and they bring their arms here we need someone here to eliminate that threat", said Charles Woodard, a constable with the Capital School District.
