Ubisoft announces Lion and Finka, Rainbow Six: Siege's two newest operators

Rainbow Six Siege Free Weekend Happening Now Until Week

The new Operators are part of a wave of new content now lined up for Siege, including the run "n" gun action if the upcoming Outbreak event, which will see a selection of the roster, including new kids Lion and Finka, fight off hordes of grotesque creatures in apocalyptic new maps.

Finka delivers a nanobot shot to each operator before an operation.

Although both Operators are assigned to Rainbow's fictional "Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Threat Unit", each Operator shares aspects of their loadout with their country's respective counterterrorism unit. Using these skills Finka injects nanobots into each operator before a round, and is able to activate them while in play to give her team some extra support.

She's equipped with a slew of powerful primary weapons including the Spear.308, SASG-12, and the 6P41.

Lion, for instance, is a French bioterror specialist who got his nickname from his loud voice. His EE-One-D is used to detect movement in an area across the entire map for a short period of time.

Both operators will be available on March 6 with the launch of the Operation Chimera event, which also includes a new cooperative game mode. To round out his gadgets he can choose from claymores or stun grenades. According to a blog post from the company, Finka will have access to self-dissolving nanobots for a wide range of now undefined applications, while Lion will utilize a drone so as to maintain quarantine perimeters. If a player is running around near a jammer then their silhouette wont show up - this ends up being a small buff to Mute. Alongside the upcoming "Mission Outbreak" co-op mode and new "Outbreak Pack" cosmetics, two new playable Operators are set to make their debut, based on a biohazard theme.

Today at the Rainbow Six Invitational tournament in Montreal, publisher Ubisoft revealed two new Operators heading the door-kicking shooter as part of the Rainbow Six Siege's next wave of DLC.
