Kylie Jenner Tweet Causes Snapchat Stock To Nosedive

Maybelline received more than 6000 votes before it deleted the Tweet

Kylie Jenner, one of the most prominent influencer on social media, is one of the reasons Snap Inc. shares fell by more than six per cent in a single day.

Although she followed it up calling it first love!

In her Wednesday's tweet, Jenner had revealed that she doesn't open the app anymore.

And just as Blue Apron's drop was broadly down to circumstances beyond the company's control, so was Snap's - entirely at the whim of a celebrity: Kylie Jenner.

The Guardian reported on Thursday that Snapchat's redesign is here to stay despite an online petition signed by more than 1.2m users asking the company to reconsider the dramatic change.

Jenner wields extraordinary influence on the platform. Everyone seems to hate the updated app, which is why a petition has managed to garner a stunning 1.2 million signatures since the update began rolling out. "With roughly 25 million followers, [Jenner] carries a loud mouthpiece that speaks to today's knee jerk reaction in shares".

Snapchat said it will soon roll out tabs in the app's Friends and Discover sections to make it easier for users to find Stories, which are photos and videos shared by users that disappear after 24 hours.

New mommy Kylie Jenner has a huge fan base, all of whom never fail to showcase their admiration for the reality TV star. Because what is the point of an update, if people are not even opening the application anymore?
