Kylie Jenner's tweet cost Snapchat $1.3 billion in market value

You can find a petition for nearly anything online, but the groundswell of support for the death of the redesign appears to have been too much for Snap to ignore, as the company issued an official response on Wednesday.

"This new foundation is just the beginning, and we will always listen closely to find new ways to make the service better for everyone".

The petition's core complaint is that the new update "has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more hard ..."

Jenner has been one of Snapchat's most influential users.

However, despite all the criticism of the app, Snap Inc.'s Chief Executive Evan Spiegal is all set to become one of the highest paid executives in the United States.

"We believe this is an overreaction as Wall Street is hypersensitive to the app redesign", he told CNN. "We are very excited for what's ahead", concluded their response. "Like, on the Stories page, do you show friends or publishers first?"

Jenner is a regular user of Snapchat, but since the much-maligned update came in she has had mixed feelings on the social media platform.

Celebrity endorsements can have such adverse effects, especially if they are negative and the latest example is of Kylie Jenner's tweet about photo-messaging Snapchat.

The youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan on Thursday wrote, "sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore?" We've certainly got a good feeling about the next update! "And it'll take time for people to adjust".
