President Moon's photo used as a murder suspect on Turkish TV

Seoul demands Turkish TV publicly apologize for depicting S. Korean president as murder suspect

A Turkish television channel has apologized for using President Moon Jae-in's photo while reporting about a murder case in Kuwait.

South Korean President Moon Jae-In (R) shakes hands with Ivanka Trump (L) during their dinner at the Presidential Blue House on February 23, 2018 in Seoul, South Korea. The channel did not stop here.

In addition to depicting the South Korean leader as a suspect, the broadcast featured a picture of Moon with US President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, taken during her visit to South Korea, describing them as a "killer couple,"according to the Korea Times".

Though Show TV deleted the video online when the South Korean embassy in Ankara raised the issue, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly asked for an apology, and not received it.

The Korean Embassy in Turkey immediately requested the program remove the report from its website and issue an apology. However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs insists the guilty party should say "sorry" on-air.

It put Moon's photo side-by-side with the murder victim's as if he were a suspect when the anchor read out the news. "We have also called for assurances to prevent similar incidents from happening". Oops! Seems like the Show TV invited a big trouble. But the ministry demanded a public apology. However, any complaints from the United States on the matter have not been reported yet.
