Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Gets First Trailer

In the meantime, the Wizarding World appears to have undergone a rebrand...

The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second of five planned Fantastic Beasts films with this newest installment taking place not in New York City, but instead following Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his cohorts as they adventure to Europe.

You heard it here first, with tomorrow being the launch of The Crimes of Grindelwald first full-length trailer; this brief teaser is more than we all think. Newt has returned to Europe after accomplishing his mission of freeing an endangered creature, but along the way, he had almost allowed the wizarding world to be exposed and had let Grindelwald slip through his fingers. There are also some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of the books and film series. But Grindelwald isn't the only one to return from hiding: Credence (Ezra Miller) the Obscurus who almost destroyed NY, is back. He's broken free of custody and is now gathering followers across the globe to aid him in his true objective: the rule of pure-blood wizards over all non-magical beings.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set to be released in United Kingdom cinemas on November 16, 2018.

New cast-members include Callum Turner, who plays Newt's older brother Theseus, Zoe Kravitz who plays Leta Lestrange and Claudia Kim, whose mysterious character is "known as a "Maledictus": someone who suffers from a 'blood curse" that turns them into a beast'.

"The Crimes of Grindelwald" will see Newt being enlisted back into the fight against Grindelwald, care of Albus Dumbledore (now played by Law), and will follow the pair as they try to derail Grindelwald and fight rising resentments in the wizarding world.
