QB-less Arizona Cardinals set to add Sam Bradford

Jan 7 2018 New Orleans LA USA Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is tackled by New Orleans Saints free safety Vonn Bell and free safety Marcus Williams during the second quarter in the NFC Wild Card playoff football game

The Cardinals are set to sign former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

The move to get Bradford is reminiscent of the Cardinals signing Palmer, a former No. 1 overall pick with a fantastic deep ball and a guy with a ton of upside, but someone who was largely cast aside because of injuries. He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2010.

It is understood Bradford, who played only two games for the Minnesota Vikings past year as he struggled with a knee injury, will earn $20m for the 2018 season, with an option for another $20m in 2019. He would be dealt to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015 and then traded to the Minnesota Vikings in '16 and put up very respectable numbers with those clubs.

It will supposedly have protection for the team in case of injury.

Via a source, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the veteran signal-caller has inked a one-year, $20 million contract to play for Steve Wilks' club. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the deal will be for one year and $20 million, with $15 guaranteed.

Nonetheless, Bradford brought stability to the quarterback position.

That leaves them looking to the free agent market for a quarterback for now, and they have several options.

As for Bradford, the issue has been health. Can he stay on the field in 2018?
