Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt to star in Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Panipat'

Panipat First Look Ashutosh Gowariker Brings Sanjay Dutt Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon Together For the Battle About The Great Betrayal

Ashutosh has done his research already in the last one year but is keeping the project under wraps as he wants to announce it in a big way. Now after giving us films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar and Mohenjo Daro, Ashutosh is back with yet another historical tale about what led to the third Battle of Panipat.

The Third Battle of Panipat is one of the most epic battles in the history of India that took place on January 14, 1761 at Panipat.

The movie Mohenjo Daro which was helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker and was flopped at the box-office. It is believed that the death of Vishwas Rao, the eldest son of Balaji Baji Rao, Peshwa of Pune (the prime minister and de facto ruler/administrator) and also the heir to the title of Peshwa of Maratha Empire, was a turning point in the third battle of Panipat and brought about victory for the Afghans.

The teaser poster heralds the beginning of a great war with visuals of a bejeweled sword, saffron flags and mighty armies headed towards a clash. He returned to acting by playing the lead role in the critically acclaimed dramedy Ventilator.

When it comes to the female lead Kriti, Ashutosh added, "I needed someone who is handsome and a good performer".

He concluded, "The eclectic combination of these three is a first for me, and I look forward to this exciting journey with them called PANIPAT".

Kriti Sanon also tweeted the same on social media. "@agpplofficial #sunitagowariker @AshGowariker @visionworldfilm #rohitshelatkar @arjunk26 @duttsanjay #PanipatTeaserPoster".

The film is slated to hit theatres on December 6, 2019. He has played double roles twice, and he has portrayed an action hero as well as a lover boy. I needed someone who is attractive and a good performer (for the female lead).

Ashutosh Gowariker is an Indian film director, actor, writer and producer. Interestingly the film will star Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon. Sanjay Dutt, however, could not impress at the box office with his comeback film, Bhoomi.
