Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Caught Undisguised Launch Expected Soon

If the word on the possible launch date of the new XUV500 facelift was keeping the auto world abuzz, the images of the new version of the SUV are doing the rounds now on the internet. The pictures show the new Mahindra XUV 500 with an updated front and rear end.

Test mules of the XUV500 facelift have been spotted on multiple occasions. The grille has a mesh design with a thick chrome outline and chrome bits in place of the vertical grille bars seen in the outgoing model of Mahindra XUV500. The air dam seen on the older version looks like an extension to the grille on Mahindra XUV 500 facelift. The signature front bumper slits with the fog lamp housings are now slimmer, slightly more angular and with less chrome as compared to its predecessor.

Coming to the rear of the Mahindra XUV500, the stacked taillight setup has been replaced with triangular units. The variant also showcases rear wipers, a roof spoiler and a defogger.

Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Caught Undisguised Launch Expected Soon

The XUV500 facelift is rumoured to get an updated 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine, which is believed to produce 168 BHP of peak power and 350 Nm of torque. Also available will be the G9 petrol AT variant with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The pricing for the facelift version of the XUV500 is not yet been announced, but we can expect that it to be similar to the outgoing version. The new version of the SUV may get upgraded infotainment system with Andriod Auto, connected apps, Ecosense and emergency calls. On launch, it will go head to head with the Renault Captur, Tata Nexon, and Jeep Compass. The SUV is expected to be launched in India this April.
