Apple launches iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus in red to fight AIDS

In March of past year, Apple also did the same with its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units sold past year, but were discontinued after the announcement of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. "We're honoured that Apple has dedicated its resources to our objective, and can't wait to see customers bring our mission to life through the purchase of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition".

The price remains unchanged with the iPhone 8 going for RM3,649 for 64GB and RM4,399 for 256GB.

Apple introduced the same Product (RED) variants for its iPhone 7 models around this time previous year, which it discontinued on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X's announcement. The new devices will come out in red color and are dubbed as iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Editions to support the RED organization which fights against HIV/AIDS in Africa. It now looks like that Apple will continue its Product RED series with the launch of the iPhone 8 (Product) RED. There's also a new (Product) RED iPhone X leather folio that goes on sale tomorrow for $99. The first wave of countries will get it starting tomorrow (April 10). People who have already purchased the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus might be tempted to sell their current devices and buy the RED color versions.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch display respectively, with black bezels around the screen. This is the second iteration of the RED iPhone to hit shelves.

For iPhone X users, Apple is launching a dark red leather folio.

A portion of proceeds from all the red model products will go to the Global Fund HIV/AIDS program. "We're honoured that Apple has dedicated its resources to our objective, and can't wait to see customers bring our mission to life through the purchase of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition". Both special edition models will be available to order in the United Kingdom beginning April 10. Since partnering with (RED) in 2006, Apple donated more than Dollars 160 million to the Global Fund.
