Reporter falls in pool on live TV

Breakfast presenter Mike Bushell suffered an hilarious mishap on live TV this morning after falling into a swimming pool mid-interview.

The journalist was interviewing the British swim team when he accidentally plunged into the pool - leaving them in stitches.

But, just as he was congratulating his interviewees on their performance in Australia, he failed to notice a step inside the water, and hilarity ensued.

"I'm going to be very careful because I've got this sound pack on", he says as he carefully gets in. He basically jinxed himself, because a few short seconds later he hell into the pool and the athletes burst out laughed.

So far so good with Mike's interview

Like a true professional, Mike went on with his interview like a trooper, however he was quickly hampered with technical issues due to his sound pack getting slightly wet.

Bushell did attempt to carry on but Vasey was unable to stop laughing and back in the studio, Louise Minchin and Charlie Stayt were unable to hear him because his soundpack had stopped working.

Bushell has since copped a bit of a roasting on social media, although it's all been pretty good natured.

"I didn't realize there was a step there", he said during the shot.
