Eagles cornerback reportedly arrested, tased after becoming combative with police

The Eagles acquired cornerback Daryl Worley from the Panthers last month. Now he's in trouble

A source close to the situation confirmed an NFL Network report, which said Worley became combative with police.

Officers responded to Broad and Pattison Sunday morning, where they found Worley asleep in his auto on the highway.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback and former West Virginia Mountaineers star Daryl Worley reportedly was arrested and tased following an incident early Sunday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport added that "a gun was recovered at the scene".

The Philadelphia Eagles released a statement later Sunday morning that read, "We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley's arrest this morning".

Worley was acquired by the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason in a trade that sent WR Torrey Smith to Carolina in March.

He played in 15 games with 14 starts for the Panthers last season.

In college, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault over an incident involving a woman at a night club.

The Eagles are scheduled to begin the voluntary portion of their offseason workout program Monday.
