Former Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley faces a litany of charges after being arrested by Philadelphia police and released by the team on Sunday.
The Eagles released Worley following his arrest.
Worley was arrested Sunday morning after he was allegedly found passed out inside a vehicle blocking a highway, according to NFL Network. On questioning, the police allege that Worley had a gun in his auto and wasn't willing to be cooperative with the police.
Worley was charged with driving under the influence, disorderly conduct/fighting, a violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, and other related offenses according to Fox 29 in Philadelphia.
Worley was traded to the Eagles by the Panthers in March in a deal that sent wide receiver Torrey Smith to Carolina.
The football player was passed out in his auto Sunday morning near the teams' practice facility in South Philadelphia. The Carolina Panthers took Worley in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and he started 25 games for the Panthers in his first two NFL seasons. Philadelphia did not absorb a financial penalty by cutting Worley and saved $670,000 against the salary cap. It was just over a month ago that the Philadelphia native and Penn Charter grad was acquired via trade.
The report said Worley was "in possession of a gun" when police found him. "I have a great support system in place and can go to them for whatever I could ask for".
