Knicks head coaching rumors: Mike Woodson added to the search

Frank Vogel Interested In Knicks Job

This week marked the termination of New York Knicks head coach Jeff Hornaceck.

Woodson wants another crack at his old job, at least that's what he told Marc Berman of the New York Post on Sunday.

Before meeting with Mills and Perry on Saturday, Porzingis, 22, reiterated that he wants to remain in NY long term.

Former Orlando Magic head coach Frank Vogel is wasting no time in his search for a new head coaching gig, and has is eye set on the Big Apple.

Woodson led the Knicks to an Atlantic Division title in his first full season in charge, but after failing to make the playoffs in 2014, he was terminated. I want to be back as soon as possible.

Now that Phil Jackson is well out of the way, and Mills has more of a voice in process of hiring the next coach alongside general manager Scott Perry, maybe the second time will be the charm with Blatt. "I think they will make the right decisions, so we have to trust them".

Hired by the Cavs prior to the 2014-15 season, Blatt amassed an 83-40 record in his 123 games in Cleveland.

ESPN reports that the Knicks already have plans to meet with four candidates over the next two weeks.

However, they struggled through a disappointing 2013-14 campaign and Woodson was offered as a scapegoat. He's been eying a potential job in the National Basketball Association as a head coach, so this would be a great opportunity for the 18-year National Basketball Association veteran guard.

According to ESPN, Knicks president Steve Mills and the team's general manager Scott Perry told Hornacek he was sacked after they returned to NY after beating the Cavs 110-98 at the Quicken Loans Arena.

"I would be insane not to, " said Woodson, who served six seasons in Atlanta.

Woodson, who has spent the last few years alongside Doc Rivers and the LA Clippers, actually coached the coached the Knicks from 2011 to 2014, and even coached NY to a 54-28 record in the 2012-13 season. "I'm happy about how the rehab is going".
