Moving ahead, the OnePlus 5T specifically only gets full-screen gesture, which the OnePlus 5, unfortunately, misses out on it.
One major change is to the Gaming mode on OnePlus 5 and 5T. Your best bet is to keep checking each morning to see if your phone has made the cut.
While the OxygenOS updates are relatively minor in comparison, the key change of course comes with the primary system update to Android 8.1 Oreo.
OnePlus is pushing a stable update of OxygenOS 5.1.0 today to the OnePlus 5 and 5T that brings each phone up to Android 8.1. This came about a month after both devices received the stable version of Oreo 8.0 and as of this writing, the pair is now getting the stable version of Oreo 8.1 as part of OxygenOS 5.1. It has also added a network boost feature during Gaming mode, where a network priority is given to the gaming app, which is running. Like in the case of all other updates, the OnePlus has pushed the new update in a phased manner and hence it will take few days for the new software bits to appear on your handset. However, you can go into the "System Updates" section in the phone's settings to check if your phone is ready to download the update. The new update also allows users to prioritise network (like data/WiFi) for the game that is being played.
OnePlus 5 and 5T will now have the latest features like the phone call picking gesture, optimization in the gaming mode along with it the support for migrating applications data. The update pauses adaptive brightness, which means the phone will be uniformly bright throughout a gaming session.
OnePlus is rolling out OxygenOS 5.1.0 update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T devices as an over-the-air (OTA) update. The update also brings auto naming for folders based on category.
