Ravens Want To Sign Dez Bryant To Bolster Receiver Corps

The belief all along was that the Cowboys' decision to release Bryant would be about money, but Bryant said the team never asked him to take a pay cut. "Ravens fans, who still lament the fact that the team was unable to land Bryant in the 2010 draft, seem infatuated with the idea".

Not long after being overtly recruited to play in Houston by Texans players DeAndre Hopkins and Tyrann Mathieu, free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant has followed several Texans on Instagram.

Bryant has insinuated that he'd like to join an NFC East team, and it's unclear whether he has interest in signing with the Ravens. They will be in the mix for a playoff spot, and there will be an opportunity to produce well on an one-year, "prove-it"-type deal".

The Washington Post reports that the Redskins aren't interested in Bryant right now. The Dallas Cowboys released him Friday after eight seasons with the team, and he indicated he'd prefer to join a team in the NFC East.

The Ravens already have signed receivers Michael Crabtree and John Brown this offseason but they might not be finished adding to quarterback Joe Flacco's arsenal of wideouts. Between 2012 and 2014 Bryant was one of the most productive wide receivers in the National Football League, averaging 91 receptions, 1312 yards and 14 touchdowns a season, including an NFL-best 16 in 2014. His 12.1 yards per reception was the lowest of his career.

Bryant reeled in over 1,200 yards and double-digit touchdowns from 2012 to 2014.
