Gronk the human buys stake in Gronk the horse

Rob Gronkowski reunites with SI model as Patriots decision looms

"It will be a huge day that will open up the Kentucky Derby, and horse racing, to even more sports fans". "When I heard about the racehorse being named after me, I started watching and got really stoked when he started winning". Gronkowski has purchased a minority stake in a racehorse that was named after him.

So far, Equine Gronk has won its last four races, including the Burradon Stakes in March. I'm all in: "Welcome to the Gronk family, Gronkowski the Horse!"

After the Patriots' Super Bowl loss in February, Gronkowski told reporters that he'd "sit down in the next couple of weeks and see where I'm at" before deciding on his future plans. He has yet to report to the Patriots' voluntary workouts.

The 28-year-old also hopes to be able to ride on the horse, despite saying he's never dealt with them.

Gronk and his entourage will be at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 5 for the 144th Kentucky Derby, and you can guarantee that all bets will be going on Gronk.

Gronk was purchased from England a year ago for over $400,000 by Phoenix Thoroughbreds, a global horse racing investment fund according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. "I like new hobbies", he said.

"I really can't think of anything cooler than having a top-class Thoroughbred named after me", Rob Gronkowski said. "I'm not trying to ride it for a full-speed ride", Gronkowski told the WSJ. After coming into the horse's possession, the racing investment fund placed the steed in trainer Jeremy Noseda's capable hands and gave him exclusive naming rights.

But Gronkowski, the horse, didn't just start winning.
