Officer suspended after manhandling woman

Squad car video shows Officer James Legg screaming'you're not in charge shut the f*** up before pulling a screaming Rose Campbell out of her vehicle

Campbell didn't agree that she had drifted from her lane - and she refused to sign the citation, saying it was tantamount to admitting guilt.

Legg's resignation comes a day after Alpharetta City Police Chief John Robison responded to the controversy by releasing the dash cam video and saying he had "some major concerns" about what had happened.

"I'm about to have a heart attack in a few minutes because my [blood] pressure's gone sky-high", she says at the end of the video.

He stated: "I did what was necessary to complete the arrest by raising my voice and using verbal commands using heavy control talk with profanity".

She was heard screaming in the dashcam video. I remind you that I did not make the traffic stop, did not begin the use of force, did respond with emergency equipment, did properly analyze the situation, did render the vehicle safe, did get the suspects attention and out of the auto, did effectively get her detached from the seatbelt, and did get her handcuffed with limited force.

The exchange then becomes heated as Campbell closes her door on Swerdlove, which he reacts to by shouting at her to leave the vehicle and trying to pull her out. Seconds later he makes his way around the vehicle and begins to yell at Campbell.

A Georgia police officer has resigned after an aggressive confrontation in which he shouted a profanity a 65-year-old grandmother, police said.

Legg had been suspended, pending the investigation, but said he did not think he would be treated fairly.

Robison said he immediately ordered an internal affairs investigation and promised decisive action at the conclusion of the investigation.

Authorities say Rose Campbell was pulled over last Friday after he vehicle swerved.

"Everybody does that when a cop gives you a ticket", she said.

She was told she would be arrested after not signing the ticket and requested a supervisor, who was immediately notified, according to authorities. Campbell asked the officer his name, and then he can be seen grabbing her. Campbell screamed.

That officer reached into the vehicle to open the door and repeatedly told her to step out of the auto. "The first officer that arrived to assist noticed that the driver they were dealing with was an older lady and didn't appear to be threatening the officers when they arrived". After refusing to open her door and asking for a supervisor, an officer can be seen attempting get extract her from her vehicle to charge her with disorderly conduct.

The woman screamed, "This is a violation of my rights" and later said, "If you break my arm, we will have a problem". The department explained on its YouTube page that this is Georgia law, adding that "a courtroom is the time and place to dispute the officer's decision".

Neither of these officers have been identified. That's when one of the officers, James Legg, began screaming at her and then grabbed her.

'I didn't expect that in America.
