Ariana Grande uses Nintendo Labo to recreate her new single

On Monday, The Tonight Show released a video of the 24-year-old pop star, along with host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, doing a special rendition of "No Tears Left to Cry".

Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show has a regular segment will Fallon, his house band the Roots, and whatever famous guest he has that night will play one of the guest's songs on toy classroom instruments.

Taking full advantage of Nintendo's Labo Toy-Con garage mode, the group was able to recreate and perform the song in its entirety - get a sneak peek below. Grande's band programmed the kit to create instruments out of cardboard. Usage of Nintendo Labo clearly made the performance unique and we're keen to listen more to this type of music.

We met with Nintendo and they showed us a bunch of cool cardboard things that you can make.

Using just cardboard, Ariana's band had guitars, keyboards, drums and for some reason, a fishing rod at their disposal. For those who don't know what Nintendo Labo is, Fallon explained it as best he could. "We set Kamal and James each up with two Toy-Con Pianos so they could play both bass and the higher octaves".

It doesn't take much to make Ariana Grande's new single sound good. Stro used two Joy-Cons for drum sounds, and finally Questlove used the Robot Kit to control the high-hat and kick drum, which makes for a totally unique musical experience that really drives home just how awesome Labo really is for these kinds of projects.

The full segment airs on the show tonight.
