Chelsea now considering approach for manager of Premier League rivals

Tottenham Hotspur's English chairman Daniel Levy speaks with Manchester City Emirati chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak during the English Premier League football match between Manchester

Spurs finished the Premier League season in third position, after a 5-4 win over Leicester City on the final day of the season, which is their third consecutive top-three finish.

Pochettino may have taken Spurs as far as they can go on the budget he has. In this situation, you need to be fearless and take risks.

"I think Daniel is going to listen to me". You know me, I have insane ideas. I think it's a moment for the club to take risks and try to be competitive.

Not only is there the obvious rivalry between the clubs, but Chelsea haven't even qualified for next season's Champions League, while Tottenham have booked their place in Europe's top competition for the third straight season.

"That is a little bit up to Daniel of course, to the club, to be happy with us, because after four years I think we need to assess that period".

Tottenham Hotspur coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has hinted that he may quit if the club fail to match his ambitions following another trophyless campaign.

The Argentinean revealed he has specific ideas for what Tottenham need to do during the summer.

This story has inevitably got everybody talking, with talkSPORT's Tony Cascarino claiming a Pochettino move from north London to west London would be more controversial than Sol Campbell's move from Spurs to Arsenal in July 2001.

"Until today it was so hard to talk about the future, but from now we need to decide the way and how we are going to operate in the future. We need to think that our reality is different, and our fans need to think and be happy and support us, because we are not this type of club that is going to invest insane money".

"That's up to Daniel and the club".

"You can not create dreams thinking you are not going to achieve these dreams".

"I am absolutely delighted to sign my new contract", Walker-Peters told Tottenham's official website.

But more will be expected of Pochettino's side next season. This time, he was more direct, essentially demanding signings.

"In my opinion I don't think they are. But tomorrow I don't know what is going to happen".

"In football, you never know", he replied.

"It makes me so proud because it means I've done well to the extent that the club feels they can reward me with a new contract".
