How to use YouTube's Take a Break feature

Jason Cipriani CNET

YouTube TV is one of the latter, and today's new feature is "voice remote". But sadly, the new feature popped up for only some users and is not available for everyone.

To use it, the user must give the app access to their device's microphone.

The feature is available only to those who are premium users and pay United States dollars 40 per month for a YouTube TV streaming subscription. Voice remote will show up as a floating button in the app; you can issue voice commands like "go back to my last channel" or "Play NBC", says the site. The feature will be added without a specific app update, but it is not now available to all users.

To get started, you should be prompted to enable Voice Remote in YouTube TV the next time you open it.

Features available through the remote are generally supported by the voice remote, which means also being able to adjust the volume, skip ahead in a show, pause/play, and more. You'll see a popup in the app alerting you to the presence of voice remote when it's available on your account.

We're not seeing this option live yet on any of our devices just yet, but it does seem to be rolling out in a limited capacity, likely ahead of a much larger rollout.
