Lars shocks them at Cannes

"More than 100 people have walked out of Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built, which depicts the mutilation of women and children". A knife in the throat, suspended leg, a bloody Uma Thurman in the vehicle, a sniper game, with bullets, riding with a corpse in the bag the faint of heart need not watch.

In the network appeared the trailer for the new film of Lars von Trier's "the House that Jack built". At the time the Cannes board declared the director's comments "unacceptable, intolerable, and contrary to the ideals of humanity and generosity that preside over the very existence of the festival". Advance word on the film suggested that it would feature scenes of sadistic violence and brutality, with Cannes director Thierry Fremaux saying that it featured "a subject so controversial" that it could only appear in an out-of-competition slot at the festival.

"The House That Jack Built takes place in 1970s USA".

The film is a full-blown slasher and boasts a cast that includes Matt Dillon, Uma Thurman, Bruno Ganz, and Riley Keough. This is not surprising considering it's a serial killer movie directed by the guy who gave us Antichrist, which might just be the actual grosses, hardest to watch movie of the 21st century.

The movie's first trailer was released back in April. Plus, Dillon's flowery narration induced some slight eye-rolling.

- The Oscar Predictor (@OscarPredictor) May 14, 2018why can't Lars von Trier just make a normal fcking movie for once. pushing limits is one thing but he's just a complete sadist expressing his narcissism and contempt for the world through his art. But who knows - the film might turn out to be surprisingly great. We experience the story from Jack's point of view, while he postulates each murder is an artwork in itself.

IFC Films is releasing The House That Jack Built for the US, but no release date has been announced at this time. The goal is the ultimate artwork: A collection of all his killings manifested in a House that he builds.
