Trump supporter Lou Barletta wins GOP nod to take on Sen. Casey

Voters to cast primary ballots in four states today

Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta was projected to defeat state Rep. Jim Christiana Tuesday within the Republican main to find out who will face incumbent Democratic Sen. These results are unlikely to calm their nerves.

Barletta is a favorite of Trump, whom Barletta endorsed in 2016.

Whether Barletta can beat Casey in the general election is unclear. Bob Casey, who is seeking a third term in November.

Mary Gay Scanlon won a 10-way Democratic primary and Madeleine Dean won a three-way Democratic primary on Tuesday night for two suburban Philadelphia seats that are likely to flip to Democrats following a court-ordered redrawing of the state's congressional district boundaries.

Democrats are expected to benefit from a recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision that withdrew numerous state's congressional districts.

Lamb, who is running in the new 17th District, has no Democratic primary opponent and will meet Republican U.S. Rep Keith Rothfus, who now represents the old 12th District, in November.

Elsewhere, Democrats were trying to unseat Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R, who was running for re-election in a swing district.

A familiar name - Rick Saccone, the former state lawmaker who lost to Lamb in March - is on the ballot in Pennsylvania's 14th District.

Pennsylvania could send at least three women Congress next year, breaking the all-male hold on the state's 18-member U.S. House delegation.

John Fetterman, the Braddock mayor, won the five-way Democratic Party primary race for lieutenant governor Tuesday, meaning he will run on a ticket with Gov. Tom Wolf in the fall.

The two-term senator is a native of Scranton and the son of a former Pennsylvania governor. He faces state Sen.

The Oregon GOP gubernatorial primary features 10 candidates who are vying for the chance to take on Democratic Gov. Kate Brown in the general election. Guy Reschenthaler for the open seat in a heavily Republican, newly drawn district. One vote in the Senate can make the difference, and the president is committed to helping me win this race. Though Nebraska has elected conservative-leaning Democrats to the Senate in the past decade, pundits nevertheless expect Fischer to be easily re-elected.

Barely any outside money has made its way into Pennsylvania thus far to help Casey or Barletta, making it unlikely that Pennsylvanians will see a repeat of the record-breaking $180 million U.S. Senate race in 2016 that Republican Sen.

Trump edged Democrat Hillary Clinton by less than 1 percentage point in Pennsylvania in 2016's presidential election.

In the hotly contested Democratic primary for the Lehigh Valley House seat being vacated by retiring Republican Rep. Charlie Dent, former Allentown solicitor Susan Wild, who was backed by EMILY's List, claimed victory.
