US Open Champion Lucas Glover's Wife Arrested for Domestic Violence

Glover confirmed on Twitter there was an altercation.

According to the police report, Krista berated Lucas for his poor play at the Players Championship (he made the 36-hole cut bud did not escape the 54-hole cut aftera third-round 78), cursing at him repeatedly.

Glover did not make the final cut for the tournament finishing DNF and falling off the leaderboard.

The report said that when his mother, Hershey Glover, tried to intervene, Krista Glover started attacking her.

Both Glover, who won the 2009 US Open, and his mother, Hershey Glover, had lacerations on their arms; Krista Glover had no lacerations. When police arrived, they found Lucas and Krista on the porch "in a verbal altercation".

Lucas told authorities that "every time he plays poorly in a tournament, Krista begins yelling at him, stating he is a "loser" and a 'p--'". Krista had no visible injuries. As she was being arrested, Mrs. Glover reportedly turned her anger toward police, resisting arrest as they were attempting to put her in the squad vehicle.

She allegedly tried to wrap her legs and feet around the frame of the open vehicle door, but several deputies pulled and pushed until she got in. Once inside the vehicle, she started screaming and kicking the door.

"Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter". "You will lose your job. Wait till I talk with the judge, you will be f--ing fired over this". That would explain the notes in the police report that she refused to get into the patrol vehicle, tried to wrap her legs around the doorway to keep from getting in, and also reportedly said that "this is why cops get shot in the face".

When reached on her cellphone this afternoon, Krista hung up abruptly when asked for comment.

In a statement to Golf.com, the PGA Tour said it supported Glover and his family: "We are aware of the situation and Lucas informed us of his statement, which has since been posted to his Twitter account".

Deputies noted that Lucas glover backpedaled some of his statements after his wife was placed in handcuffs, saying there had been no fight.
