'Zero concern' as James says Cavs will bounce back

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Le Bron James right fights for position against Boston Celtics forward Marcus Morris during the third quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals May 13 in Boston

The Cleveland Cavaliers star put his skills on display when he described what went wrong during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.

Love said he thought the Cavs were a "little soft" in the first half in Game 1.

Auerbach's spirit was definitely with the Celtics that 2007-2008 season, as they won the National Basketball Association championship that year, spearheaded by their Big Three of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. He's 2-4 in series in which he's trailed 0-2 (the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals against the Pistons and 2016 Finals against the Warriors being the exceptions). After James wiggled his way to a layup - Cleveland's first points in four minutes, 43 seconds - Boston ran off eight more points in a row; Brown had six of them, and he finished the quarter with 13 points and five rebounds. Morris excelled in a way even he couldn't have expected in Game 1.

LeBron James will play with more vigor and emotion, and basically play better.

It was James' worst postseason performance in recent memory, with the Celtics holding the Cavaliers' superstar to 15 points and forcing him into seven turnovers. They dominated each of the first two quarters to lead 61-35 at the main break, and despite a third quarter fightback from the Cavs, the Celtics were able to run out comfortable 108-83 winners.

Kevin Love led Cleveland with 17 points and added eight rebounds.

James is not going to be in the 15-point range again. Morris managed 21 points on 7-for-12 shooting himself in what was a typically even offensive performance from the Celtics.

He's probably ready to explode after that lackluster showing, especially since he remembers just about every play thanks to his awe-inspiring postgame recollection (besides one of his team-high seven turnovers, which he conveniently left out of his play-by-play with reporters). "This is its own game, we have to really come out with that edge that we've been playing with".

His NBA-record streak of 18 games with at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists was broken as Morris and the Celtics band of long-armed athletes worked their defensive magic.

He upped both marks with a sterling Game 1 in which he accurately predicted a sleepwalking flat spot for the Cavaliers coming off their sweep of the Raptors. "He's going to approach this game as one where he's going to have to lead and bounce back".

The C's opened up the series Sunday afternoon by beating the Cavs in blowout fashion, but after the game, they mentally hit the reset button.

Personally, I think I'm probably the best guy defending him in the league, outside of Kawhi (Leonard).

James has spoken in the past about his ability to "play a lot of plays" in his head, admitting that sometimes it can actually get in the way of a great game.

In a 2014 story about James" powers of recall, ESPN's Brian Windhorst quoted a childhood friend of the future Hall of Famer as saying, "When you play [the video game] "Madden' with him now you have to be careful which teams you take, because he will know what your game plans were in the past when you've played with him and he'll pick the opposing team knowing what plays you want to run".

Allen signed with the Heat, winning a title with James as part of the 2013 squad. They are also 2-12 ATS following a game where they scored 85 or less. We've got to help him and be effective. If the past is any indication, LeBron is about to bounce back in a big way in game 2.
