Coinbase Announces the Launch of New Products for Institutional Investors

Coinbase Rolls Out Crypto Custody Product for Institutions

The exchange has launched Coinbase Prime, a new platform meant to provide a suite of tools and services to institutional investors who are specifically trading cryptocurrency.

Coinbase has leveraged the company's deep experience safely storing more than $20 billion of cryptocurrency to create Coinbase Custody, the most secure crypto storage solution available.

Earlier today, Coinbase, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchange platform headquartered in San Francisco, reported multiple announcements on all the projects they have come up with for the betterment of the Cryptoverse. "Our new partnership will set the required standards that will bring peace of mind to digital asset investors, and provide tools and products to enable better integration with more traditional investment vehicles such as mutual funds". It will launch a cryptocurrency custodian in partnership with an SEC-regulated broker-dealer to a group of initial clients that include 1confirmation, Autonomous Partners, Boost VC, Meta Stable, Multicoin Capital, Polychain Capital, Scalar Capital and Walden Bridge Capital. Coinbase recognizes it'll need to prove the service is reliable if it hopes to win over hedge funds or Wall Street's elite, said Adam White, vice president of Coinbase Institutional, a division setup to oversee the Wall Street business. All the new products were developed with an aim to satisfy investors' needs in crypto trading and investing. Coinbase plans to roll out all of these services "over the coming months".

White adds: "As institutions continue to enter the cryptocurrency market, we are committed to building the products and services that uniquely meet their needs". Over the course of the year, Coinbase Markets will introduce new features like low latency performance, on-premise data center colocation services, institutional connectivity and access, and settlement and clearing services.

The Coinbase Institutional Coverage Group will also sell the Coinbase service to additional investors who want to start investing in crypto.

It will act as a centralized pool of liquidity for all of Coinbase's products.

Coinbase Rolls Out Crypto Custody Product for Institutions

Coinbase Prime is going to be a separate trading platform only for institutional investors.

Coinbase Prime will accelerate adoption of cryptocurrency worldwide by helping institutions everywhere participate in this emerging asset class.

The final product being offered is Coinbase Institutional Coverage Group.

Another new product will be Coinbase Prime, which was created to offer the tools that the institutional investors need the most when trading and fill the gap that sometimes prevents these institutions from investing in crypto. The custodial services will enable users to store large amounts of digital currencies whereas the enhanced trading capabilities including margin trading and risk management will allow the customers to use borrowed money.

The last announcement made by Coinbase is regarding its Institutional Coverage Group, headquartered in the NY office.
