De Niro drops Trump F-bomb onstage at Tony Awards

Actress Alana Stewart criticized actor Robert De Niro for his comment about President Donald Trump at the Tony Awards and wondered what the reception would have been like if it had been a comment about former President Barack Obama.

Robert De Niro didn't set foot on a Broadway stage this past year, yet on last night's Tony Awards, he received one of the loudest and most sustained ovations of the night with only two words: "Fuck Trump". "It's no longer 'Down with Trump, ' it's F-K TRUMP", De Niro said.

Mr. De Niro then flexed both of his arms before quipping, "Now I'll get to my introduction".

The CBS live broadcast of the ceremony in New York's Radio City Music Hall managed to bleep out the swear words after running on a slight delay, but the outburst was reportedly not censored in other countries.

"I'm gonna say one thing".

However, film star De Niro may get the bulk of the questions after his big statement at Sunday night's Tony Awards.

The actor urged the crowd to vote in the November midterm elections and praised Springsteen for the singer's political activism.

"Boy, do we need that now". De Niro said, pumping his fists in the air.

Playwright Tony Kushner also shared De Niro's dismay of Trump saying it was a "the Hitler mistake" that put a "borderline psychotic narcissist in the White House". Before doing that, De Niro chose to open with a message for President Donald Trump, who will soon meet with Kim Jon Ung. "We all belong. So I dedicate this award to the countless LGBTQ people who have fought and died to protect that spirit, to protect that message for the right to live and love as we are created to".

De Niro won Oscars for his roles in The Godfather: Part II (1974) and Raging Bull (1980).
