Lottery victor wears winking emoji mask to hide identity

Lottery winner wears winking emoji mask so no one can ever bother her for money

With a mess of tendrils framing the mask, the woman identified only as N Gray arrived to collect the $180 million in Jamaican dollars she won as part of the May 11 Super Lotto jackpot drawing.

A Jamaican lottery victor appeared at a press conference earlier this week to collect her winnings - but desiring to keep her anonymity intact, she wore an emoji mask to hide her identity.

This lottery victor couldn't stop smiling mainly because she was wearing a winking smiley emoji mask.

Supreme Ventures posted photos from the press conference to Twitter, where they quickly went viral.

"Unfortunately, Jamaica is not like other markets", she said.

"This is genius", one wrote, describing her as a "smart woman". "We are not going to tell them not to do that because their safety is of paramount importance to us as well".

Lottery winners around the world have opted to hide their identities as they collect their winnings.

That's why Gray isn't revealing much about herself, but she did offer a peek behind the mask to the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper.

The video of Gray wearing a mask is doing rounds on social media and has reportedly received more than 3,000 likes on Twitter.

"The mask this person wore tells me N. Gray is going to be A. Okay as a millionaire", Theresa S tweeted on Friday. Her winnings are valued at $1.4 million American dollars.

While her actions might seem odd and humorous to some, a representative of the company Simone Clarke-Cooper told the media that since Super Lotto started, the winners have regularly worn disguises to protect themselves.
