John Oliver Shreds Sean Hannity For 'S**ttiest Conspiracy Theory Ever'

HBO‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

He said, "My fear is right now is that we're headed in a direction where, even if Mueller comes back with irrefutable evidence, Trump could just pardon himself and put out a book called "If I Did It", and a large portion of the country would f***ing buy it".

"Last Week Tonight" host John Oliver on Sunday addressed the latest developments of the special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into President Trump's 2016 election campaign, which Oliver has for several episodes labeled "Stupid Watergate". The host also suggests that conservative pundits are doing their best to cast any and all doubt on the probe into the Trump administration.

Oliver opens the segment with the troubling news that only about half (54 percent) of Americans support continuing the investigation.

Trump and his supporters, Sean Hannity, Rudy Giuliani, and others have been saying that Mueller's investigation is nothing more than a witch hunt, a notion that Oliver scoffs at, because if those three had been alive when people were still burning witches, "they would have had front row seats, toasting marshmallows", Oliver said. The number is down from 62 percent in the earlier days of the investigation, despite the progress the investigation has made, leading to numerous indictments and guilty pleas.

"If this is a witch hunt", John Oliver told viewers of his late-night show, "witches exist". According to The Telegraph, in order for broadcasters to place television cameras into the House of Commons, they had to agree to a rule in 1989, which states that footage can not be used "in any light entertainment programme of political satire".

Second: Pointing out that someone else did something shitty doesn't make what one's own shitty actions any less shitty.
