Huawei Mate 20 Pro May Feature Samsung 6.9-inch OLED Displays

Huawei is making a phone even bigger than the iPhone X Plus or Galaxy Note 9

The brand has ordered for flat panels and not curved ones. We say so as the recent reports hint that the company could be in plans to launch a device with a 6.9-inch display.

To help you visualize this display, it will be 0.9 inches larger than the display of the Huawei Mate10 Pro with a 6-inch display.

According to reports, Huawei may be launching the Mate 20 in the fourth quarter of 2018, which is sometime between October and December.

While the larger display won't be enough to sway iPhone users to switch, it could be a lure for Android fans using other smartphones.

The Apple iPhone X Plus is expected to arrive with a display size of 6.46-inches while the Galaxy Note 9's display is believed to measure 6.38-inches.

The latest Huawei Mate 20 Pro has leaked and is rumored to sport an enormous 6.9-inch OLED display supplied by Samsung.

Given the OLED nature of the panel and its size, it looks like the upcoming smartphone from Huawei will be a flagship device.

While not explicitly mentioned, the Mate series has always been the large-screen member of the Huawei family, with the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 10 featuring a 5.9-inch display. This means that there is a possibility that these panels are for the Mate 20. The Huawei Mate 20 will sport a 6.9-inch display, while the iPhone 2018 aka iPhone X Plus will come with a 6.4-inch display, suggests report.

These are just based on speculations and we are yet to know more about the upcoming Huawei flagship smartphones. There are still some outliers in the 5.5 to 6-inch range, and Samsung's Note line has always pushed the boundaries, but the days of the almost-tablet (remember phablets?) are over.
